Hi, guys! This is chapter 4! I hope you enjoy. If there’s any mistake, please notify me. Happy reading!  ( ^  ^ )

“Hey, wait for me a bit,” when Ning Meng Yao saw that person arrived at the foot of the mountain, he turned in a curve and got ready to leave, and she opened her mouth to call him.

Qiao Tian Chang had noticed Ning Meng Yao standing there before and stopped once he heard her voice, a pair of clam and unperturbed eyes looked at her carrying some doubts.

Ning Meng Yao rubbed her nose embarrassedly since she realized that the tone she used earlier was impolite.

“That prey you caught, can you sell a pheasant to me?” Ning Meng Yao walked to the side of Qiao Tian Chang and raised her head as she spoke.

Because they were far apart before, Ning Meng Yao had just noticed that this man grew to be really tall once she neared him. Her 1.6 meter height seemed to be like a child’s in front of this man.

Qiao Tian Chang nodded his head, taking a pheasant from his hand and gave it to Ning Meng Yao.

“How much is this?” Ning Meng Yao asked as she received the pheasant he handed over.

“Fifty wen.”

“Oh, good. Please wait for a while, I will go back to take the money,” after saying that, she turned her body and went to her house and not long later, she went out, her hands carrying copper plate with her.

After receiving the copper plate, Qiao Tian Chang turned his body and left, the tip of his nose seemed to caught a touch of fragrance, the copper plates in his hands still carried the her warmth.

Ning Meng Yao turned her body and headed back, packing the pheasant she bought. She would eat chicken stewed with mushroom in the afternoon.

Ning Meng Yao didn’t plan on going out. She was about to embroider her screen after eating but when she was going to start, Yang Xiu Er bought an embroidery basket filled with embroidery threads, paddles, purse and the likes.

Seeing her, Ning Meng Yao then discarded her plan of embroidering and turned her body to go to the edge of the room.

When she came out again, she carried in her hands a very small hoe.

Looking at the thing in Ning Meng Yao’s hands, Yang Xiu Er clicked her tongue and complained, “Meng Yao, why are you not doing any embroidery work, ah?”

She carried her embroidery here because she wanted to steal some skills from Ning Meng Yao, but Ning Meng Yao now actually carried a hoe and went out the front field to water the vegetables.

Ning Meng Yao lifted her head to Yang Xiu Er and laughed soundlessly, “Yes, the vegetable field already has many grass growing, I should get them apart.”

Yang Xiu Er took a stool and sat on it, putting her basket on the side, “This is just a trifling matter, getting the grass apart can be done at any time, the most important thing is to earn some money.”

She did not know how much Ning Meng Yao’s embroidery could be sold, but she had a feeling that it won’t be little.

“No need, I’m not worrying over small amount of money used,” Ning Meng Yao shook her head and ignored Yang Xiu Er, turning and carried on doing what she was doing.

Yang Xiu Er’s hand went slightly stiff, the fingertips of her rough hands that were holding the threads and needles went white, the expression on her face became slightly ugly.

Just like this, they went along by a strange stance. One was Ning Meng Yao who made embroidery, seeing the vegetable field from time to time, while the latter did not give any look to her.

After sensing her gaze, Ning Meng Yao lifted her head, staring at the Yang Xiu Er whose thoughts she did not know, “Do you need something?”

Yang Xiu Er nodded her head awkwardly, lowering her head to look at the embroidery basket, her eyes alight, “Meng Yao, help me look at this embroidery. However I embroider it, it always turned bad.”

Yang Xiu Er took a piece of silk handkerchief that had light colored flowers embroidery. It looked good, but the flower petals seemed lacking somewhat.

Ning Meng Yao halted her activity and walked towards Yang Xiu Er’s side, lowering her head to look at the handkerchief, “Don’t use even needles on this spot, use cross embroidery instead. Why don’t you try?”

“Oh, good.” She did it according to Ning Meng Yao’s instructions. When she finished the embroidery, she realized that the finished product compared to her previous result was much better.

Yang Xiu Er nodded her head in satisfaction. But because of this, every time Yang Xiu Er had something she did not understand, she would call for Ning Meng Yao non-stop, causing her to neglect her activity.

Ning Meng Yao’s eyes flashed irritably. When Yang Xiu Er called her once more, she only lifted her head to look with one eye, “You can’t even do the things I just told you? Don’t bite off more than you can chew.”

< Property of | outside of it, it is stolen.

Yang Xiu Er’s expression became somewhat ugly for a while, feeling that Ning Meng Yao was too petty, she was not even willing to tell here such a small thing, truly too much, she even treated Ning Meng Yao as a good friend.

Not getting what she wanted, Yang Xiu Er kept on staring at Ning Meng Yao, her gaze seemed like wanting to eat her whole.

“Meng Yao, I only wanted you to teach me embroidery a bit, why are you so fierce about it,” Yang Xiu Er muttered with a small voice as she looked at Ning Meng Yao as if she was wronged.

Who would even want friends if they were like her? ?
Thanks for the update!

Stop acting like a victim sweetie. When really you just want to get away with – whatever you want to get away with – walking all over people.

Thank you for the chapter!! ^.^

This girl is annoying as a fly! Hopefully NMY stops being her…. friend?

Thank you for the chapter.

There’s a ‘Rape’ tag over at NovelUpdates for this novel. Does it happen later on? If it does, does it involve the MC?

Thank you so much!!!

Tifa Lockhart

Thanks for the update…looking forward for more..hehe

Wow…. I wanna slap her. What is with Chinese novel side characters that urge me to do violence unto them?

I have the same sentiment towards her “generous friend.”

All she needs is money and so she’ll do everything….xD but she should know how to be more friendly X’D

Thank you for the chapter (^-^*)/ nyafufu

Thank you for the chapter~
I wanna meet the male lead!

She didn’t even ASK her politely to help her learn embroidery. If she wants to learn so badly, why not be straightforward at least? She’s the petty one, really.

Was that the general?

Also, as someone above commented, I’m also worried about the rape tag on NU! Please don’t tell me the male lead is to blame, or else I won’t be able to stand it! T.T

ugh I hate these type of people. Trying to steal other people’s skills (yes, steal bc learning includes respect) and even when the MC actually helped and let her follow her, she still wants more and is even ungrateful.
thx for the chapter!

Thanks for the chapter! Even out in the boonies you can find people like this huh.
